FICYT is a public organization that has recently set up a department specialized in health projects. The European Health Projects Unit (UPS-Asturias) aims at favoring the participation of state hospitals in European projects and increasing the internationalization of the clinicians in the Public Health System of Asturias. FICYT participates as coordinator and partner in four European projects. These are:

EFFICHRONIC (EU Health Programme) – Coordinator (2017-2019).

Title: “Enhancing Health Systems sustainability by providing cost-efficiency data of evidenced based interventions for chronic management in stratified population based on clinical socio-economic determinants”. FICYT is the coordinator of the project and leader of the dissemination tasks of EFFICHRONIC. FICYT is also responsible for carrying out the financial management of this project.

EIP on AHA – Partner (2016-running).

Tittle: “European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing”. A regional partnership has been established in line with the regional strategy of the Government of healthy ageing. The partnership is built by stakeholders with a broad expertise related to ageing in the region including three Regional ministries, SMEs, Red Cross, SESPA, Technological Centers and the University of Oviedo. 

FRAILCLINIC (EU Health Programme) – Partner (2014-running).

Title: “Feasibility and effectiveness of the Implementation of programs to screen and manage frail older patients in different clinical settings”. FICYT is the leader of the dissemination tasks and carries out the financial justification of this project in Asturias.

ERANET TRANSCAN-2 (H2020) – Partner (2014-running).

Tittle: “ERA-NET aligning national/regional translational cancer research”. 25 funding agencies from 19 Member States including FICYT have established jointed actions to fund projects related to Cancer research.
